Valhalla Deck and Patio completed a deck and underdeck living area in Sandy Springs for homeowners who wanted a fully usable shaded space by the pool. The challenge was to design a modern structure that preserved the original brick columns while transforming the space beneath the deck into the primary living area.
The new deck was framed with pressure-treated wood and finished with TimberTech Advanced PVC decking and railing. The original brick columns were reinforced according to updated engineering standards, ensuring long-term structural integrity. Below the deck, an underdeck drainage system was installed along with ceiling fans, lighting, and dedicated outlets, creating a dry, shaded space that stays functional in all weather.
This project created a flexible outdoor retreat with poolside shade, comfort, and clean, modern finishes. The family now has a durable upper deck and a fully finished lower space that feels like an extension of their indoor living area.
