Valhalla Deck and Patio created a comfortable, functional outdoor living space for a Holly Springs homeowner seeking shelter from the Georgia sun. The goal was to provide a shaded area with a covered patio transformation that could still feel open to the outdoors, with added airflow and space for relaxation.
The project included constructing a pressure-treated wood roof structure over a freshly poured concrete patio. A key design feature was the structural reinforcement added to support a full-size wooden swing that can hold two to three adults. Outdoor-rated ceiling fans were also installed to improve airflow and comfort under the roof.
The finished space provides the homeowner with a relaxing backyard retreat, featuring overhead protection, natural ventilation, and ample patio space for seating and entertaining. The swing, ceiling fans, and hanging planters combine to create a functional, inviting outdoor extension of the home just beyond the sliding glass doors.
