Valhalla Deck and Patio created a seamless covered patio in Canton for a homeowner who needed complete sun protection to enjoy time outdoors with her young children. The goal was to build a structure that looked original to the home while providing daily functionality and full shade.
The new roof structure was carefully designed using pressure-treated wood, built directly over the existing patio without removing or altering it. The biggest challenge was creating footings around the slab while ensuring they looked intentional and balanced. Trim and ceiling details were closely matched to the home’s existing features, and the addition includes a white tongue and groove ceiling with black outdoor-rated fans for added airflow and comfort.
This shaded space now gives the family a relaxing and safe place to gather outside. The completed structure blends cleanly with the original architecture, providing a visually unified and functional outdoor living area.
